2. Establishment and Early Years

Aldana Films Incorporated Limited was founded in the year 2009 by Charles Kwame Baah, Mavis Tindana, Albert Ackun Addo, and Erica Mbama Tindana with the vision of marketing and distribution of musical products and also film and music production. 

The company started as a small independent production hub creating films that quickly garnered attention for their artistic merit.

Aldana Films Incorporated Limited is a recognized member of the prestigious Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG).

Noteworthy Early Creations:

The film “Back-To-Back,” released in 2010, stands as a significant milestone in cinematic storytelling. This groundbreaking film received extensive acclaim from industry experts and critics alike, who praised its innovative narrative structure and compelling character development. The film, which showcases a unique blend of drama and suspense, highlights the intricacies of human relationships and the challenges faced by its protagonists. Its thoughtful direction and exceptional performances contributed to a fresh perspective on the local film landscape, solidifying its status as a landmark achievement in the regional cinematic scene.

The television series High Skull Fever was filmed in 2012 and marked a significant milestone as the company’s inaugural commercial success, solidifying its reputation within the local television industry. The series was broadcast on GhOne Television, one of the leading and most popular television stations in Ghana, attracting a dedicated viewership. 

High Skull Fever was well-received and, in recognition of its impact and quality, it gained a nomination for ‘Best TV Series’ at the prestigious Ghana Movie Awards in 2013. Additionally, the talented cast and the innovative director of the series were also acknowledged for their outstanding performances and contributions, showcasing the high caliber of talent involved in the production. This series not only entertained audiences but also elevated the standards of local television programming.

Building on the remarkable success of the High Skull Fever television series, a new series titled College Diary was launched in 2014. This innovative show quickly captivated audiences and made a significant impact on the local television landscape, becoming a historical milestone as the first local series to be simultaneously aired on two competing networks, GhOne TV and Joy Prime TV. 

College Diary’s engaging storyline and relatable characters resonated with viewers across diverse demographics, allowing it to garner a substantial following. The series was well-received by critics, ultimately earning a prestigious nomination for “Best Local TV Series” at the Ghana Movie Awards. Despite its strong showing and widespread support, it narrowly missed out on taking home the coveted award, further solidifying College Diary’s place in the annals of local television history.

In 2018, a highly acclaimed feature film titled Hours to Graduate was released, capturing the attention of audiences and industry professionals alike. This movie delves into the challenges faced by students on the brink of graduation, exploring themes of ambition, perseverance, and the transformative power of education. With a compelling narrative and stellar performances, Hours to Graduate was lauded for its engaging storytelling and emotional depth, earning accolades and recognition at various film festivals. Its impactful message resonated with both critics and viewers, solidifying its place as one of the standout films of the year.
